This item is a standard nendo ruck-tote made from deadstock kvadrat fabric.

This is the "SMALL" size of the "ruck-tote" bag, a hybrid of a backpack and a tote. It's a sacoche type for those who want to carry as little as possible and be light on their feet.

Tote bags have handles and an opening at the "top," making it easy to check the contents and put things in and take them out while the bag is on your shoulder. Backpacks, on the other hand, have handles on the "side," which keeps them close to your body, and the cushioning and adjustable length of the straps make them less tiring to carry. We wanted to combine the convenience of both, so we designed a bag that feels like a backpack when you're on the move, but allows for smooth access to your belongings like a tote.

〈Oki Sato, Representative of Design Office nendo〉

Born in Canada in 1977. Graduated from Waseda University's Department of Architecture in 2002, and established design office nendo in the same year. He was selected as one of Newsweek's "100 Japanese People the World Respects" and has won numerous international design awards, including EDIDA's "Designer of the Year" (2012). His representative works are housed in museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art (USA). He designed the torch for TOKYO2020 and the new TGV high-speed train in France. He serves as the general producer for the Japan Government Pavilion at the Kansai Expo.
