The PushPin Almanack

A promotional booklet issued by Push Pin Studios in the early 1950s with the aim of showcasing their design and illustration skills. The word "Almanac" originally means "yearbook" or "ephemeris," and borrowing from this classic format, Push Pin re-envisioned historical events, customs, and everyday topics with cynical illustrations, humor, and conceptual art. This publication, truly embodying the spirit of "learning from the past to create new things," is a symbolic origin point for Push Pin, unleashing freedom of expression. The woodcut-style design used on the cover and elsewhere became symbolic of the studio name "Push Pin," and the logo that evolved later, with the left P representing "Push" and the right P representing "Pin," is also printed.
