Misato Kurimune / Misato Kurimune

Born in 1988 in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture. Completed the Master's Program in Printmaking at the Kyoto Seika University Graduate School of Art in 2013. Currently dedicated to educating the next generation at the Faculty of Art, Kyoto Seika University.

Using his own photographs as a base, he employs a mixed-media technique of drawing over them, consistently questioning the essence of beauty, existence, time, and life. He has presented his work extensively both in Japan and abroad. In recent years, he has focused on the concept of the essence of the act of "seeing" within an information-saturated society mediated by the internet, while expanding the possibilities of expression through collaborations with corporations.
