IndependentTokyo2026 / Saori Kashiwamura: "Dreaming Cupid" Cyber Mythos Series / 008704

Graduated from Musashino Art University, Department of Scenography, Display and Fashion Design.
Since around 2011, she has been pursuing her artistic career with the concept of "updating myths."
In her early works, she created mixed-media art primarily using digital collage with added analog techniques. Her digital art photo collage series "Kojiki," featuring herself and close friends in the artworks, and her original worldview inspired by world myths, received high acclaim.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, from 2024, she shifted her techniques to analog. She is currently working on the "Cyber Muse" series, which focuses on "goddesses of the near future" using hand-painted watercolors and foil.
She has participated in numerous art fairs and gallery exhibitions both in Japan and overseas, exhibiting her works in over 11 countries.
She will also exhibit her work and perform on stage at "EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai World Expo."

■Artist Statement
My work explores how beauty, faith, and the feminine divine can be reconstructed from ancient times to the future.
Using both analog watercolors and digital tools, I express mythological motifs from a contemporary perspective.
I also expand the worldview of my work through performance.
In my latest "Cyber Muse" series in particular, I depict goddesses in a near-future society where humans and androids coexist, questioning the future aesthetics and forms of faith.
