Title:Tears at twilight
Artist: kaori Fukushima
Work description: I named this work "Tears at Dusk" because the orange print turned out beautifully. The tiger represents the strength inside of me. The devil reflects the anxiety and conflict in my heart, and helps me to face not just fear but the anxiety deep inside my heart.
Where on earth do tears come from? They are not at the edge of simple emotions such as sadness or joy, but seem to well up from a deeper realm that cannot be fully captured by words. In this work too, the tears do not necessarily mean sadness, but I believe that many other emotions are mixed together.
At first, I thought of calling it "Girl at Dusk," but then I thought about it again: the vague and wavering feeling of twilight is something that not only girls feel, but everyone feels, regardless of age or position. I think I wanted to express that emotional moment when tears suddenly flow in the twilight. I hope that each viewer will be free to feel what meaning those tears have for themselves.
