TRÄD
Trad means ``tree'' in Swedish, and the design was inspired by the ``elm tree riot'' that occurred in 1971. This uproar began when a subway entrance was built in Stockholm's Royal Park due to urban development, but as many as 1,000 protestors flocked to protect the elm trees in the park. This incident led to the station being moved several hundred meters away. These elm trees are still planted in the park, and the design dynamically depicts elm trees full of vitality.
Kjell Bolin
Born in 1935. Raised in Bodum parish in Augermannland, studied under Anders Beckmann after graduating from art school. He is widely active as a textile designer, dress designer, and artist. From organic designs with tree and forest motifs to abstract patterns, his works are characterized by delicate touches using steel pens and flat brushes.
