The "SMALL" size of the "ruck-tote" bag, a hybrid of a backpack and a tote bag. This sacoche type is for those who want to carry as little as possible and be light on their feet.

With a tote bag, the handle and opening are on the "top", making it easy to check the contents and put things in and take them out while the bag is on your shoulder. On the other hand, a backpack has the handle on the "side", which keeps it close to the body, and combined with the cushioning and adjustable length of the straps, makes it less tiring to carry. We wanted to combine the convenience of both, so we designed a bag that feels like a backpack when you're on the move, but allows for smooth access to items like a tote bag.

The shape of the bag is a slightly irregular pentagon. This creates an uneven center of gravity, and the heavier the contents, the more the handle becomes "horizontal", giving it the feel of a one-shoulder backpack. Then, by tilting the bag slightly, the opening becomes "upward", allowing it to be used like a tote. The details of the shoulder strap and metal fittings are as "backpack-like" as possible, while the fabric is intentionally a "tote-like" canvas, so that the hybrid nature is a visual feature as well as a functional one.
